In terms of timber harvesting, Austria has developed into an absolute pioneer country over the past decades. Due to the difficult terrain conditions in the high and low mountain ranges and the associated high harvesting costs, it was necessary to constantly adapt and further develop the level of technology in the provision of the raw material wood. In addition to occupational safety, care, economy and ecological responsibility are the main priorities in timber work.
This is exactly what AUSTROFOMA is all about. What makes Austria's largest forestry machinery trade fair unique in international comparison is the presentation of timber harvesters in operation. Above all, the rope crane technology developed in Austria is in demand worldwide and the mountain harvesters with attached crane processors are one of the attractions for the international trade audience. But also the topics of digitalization, supply chain optimization, use of drones, geo-information systems and terrestrial laser scanning for the mass determination of forest stands have brought an enormous innovation boost for forestry and are continuously developed and presented.
